Press: The Walking Dead: Lauren Cohan on Maggie’s leadership at Hilltop

EW – Deana was the first one to see it, grooming Maggie as a leader when she first arrived at Alexandria. And now her leadership training is complete. So is Maggie ready to officially take over running the Hilltop from cowardly Gregory?

It’s a question we posed to Lauren Cohan during a break at EW’s recent The Walking Dead cover shoot, and it sounds like the farmer’s daughter is prepared to accept that leadership position. “I think that Maggie feels very clear on safeguarding Hilltop and everything else that she can,” says Cohan. “And she knows that the Hilltop looks to her and respects her and follows her. And I think really quickly it snowballs into being in that place of leadership, but we’re all taking care of different factions of the world and we’re all in charge of the singular grand purpose. I mean, what else are we going to do?”

Without spoiling too much, we can say there is a moment in the season 8 premiere on Sunday Oct. 22 where the Hilltopers will face a choice between Maggie and Gregory, but the choice may not be as easy at it seems. How will it all shake out? You’ll have to watch episode 100 to find out, but in the meantime, check out Cohan in the video clip below talking about Maggie and the Hilltop.

Press: “The Walking Dead” Former cast members return to celebrate episode 100

EW – All 20 The Walking Dead cast members and executive producers took the stage at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for a two-hour live Talking Dead that followed the season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead, which also happened to be the 100th episode of the AMC zombie drama. But they weren’t the only ones on the stage.

Host Chris Hardwick also brought out several former cast members who characters were killed off along the way. Sonequa Martin-Green (who played Sasha), Emily Kinney (Beth), Scott Wilson (Hershel), Iron-E Singleton (T-Dog), and Michael Rooker (Merle) were surprise guests at the soiree, while Steven Yeun (Glenn) and Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) sent in video messages.

We have this exclusive photo of the whole gang together on stage from the event, along with some nifty episode 100 balloons. Enjoy the group shot and then make sure to check out our episode Q&As with star Andrew Lincoln, showrunner Scott M. Gimple, and director Greg Nicotero.

Press: ‘The Walking Dead’: 5 Things We’d Like to See After the Season 8 Premiere

TV Insider – So the All Out War is officially underway, fans of The Walking Dead.

We now know that Rick and the gang made themselves a pretty fine and explosive plan that stretched all the way from Alexandria to the Sanctuary (we’re not sure how far that actually is, but oh well).

We know that Negan is in a pickle, trapped in a trailer with Father Gabriel and surrounded by a herd of walkers the likes of which we haven’t seen since Atlanta was still a thing. And with the Sanctuary swiss-cheesed by the “Piss Patrol” assault, his numbers might be endangered, too.

With so many questions unanswered—Where’s Jadis? What happened to the lady village Tara found a while back? Who’s in those graves? Who’s gas station man? Why’s Rick limping? Why Weird Al? What happens next?—here’s our off-the-cuff wish list as the new season unfolds.

Gallery: “The Walking Dead” Season 8 Premiere & Live “Talking Dead” Show

“The Walking Dead” is finally back and Season 8’s premiere was awesome! I’m glad to see the gang is back together and fighting back. I will be posting the screencaptures from the show and Talking Dead a bit later tonight. I wish there had been more photos from the live Talking Dead show but hopefully more will post later. For now enjoy these!
